Therapy for Anxiety, Parenting Stress, and Life Transitions
Becoming a parent or even thinking about becoming one can bring up a mix of hope, pressure, and unexpected emotions. You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure if what you’re experiencing is “normal.” You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Is It Normal to Feel Anxious or Overwhelmed When Becoming a Parent?
I work with individuals ages 10 and up, with a special focus on expecting, hopeful, and new parents. Many of the people I support are navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum changes, parenting stress, or the emotional weight that can come with raising a neurodivergent child. I also work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD-related symptoms, ADHD, and relationship or attachment challenges.
How Can Therapy Help With Parenting Stress and Anxiety?
In our work together, I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and not judged. Sessions often start with a check-in about your week, both the wins and the hard moments. From there, we gently explore what’s coming up for you, build on your strengths, and work toward small, meaningful goals at a pace that feels manageable. Clients often share that they feel a sense of relief after sessions, like a weight has been lifted, and appreciate having a space where they can be fully themselves.
Support for Expecting, New, and Neurodivergent Parents
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in meeting you where you are. I help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions, develop coping tools that actually fit your life, and build resilience over time. As a parent of a neurodivergent child myself, I bring both professional training and lived understanding to this work, especially when supporting other parents navigating similar paths. If you’re looking for a space where you can feel supported, understood, and gently challenged to grow, I’d be honored to work with you.
You might be a good fit for this work if you:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is it like to work with you?
Working with me feels supportive, conversational, and grounded. We’ll start by talking about what’s been going on in your life, and I’ll help you sort through your thoughts and feelings in a way that feels manageable. Clients often say they feel relief after sessions and appreciate having a space where they can be open without fear of judgment.
Who do you help best?
I work best with individuals who are open to the process of therapy and looking for support through meaningful life transitions or emotional challenges. I especially enjoy working with expecting, hopeful, and new parents, as well as individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD-related concerns, and the realities of parenting a neurodivergent child.
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—we’ll go at your pace and focus on helping you feel comfortable and supported.
Do I need to be in a certain place to start therapy?
Not at all. Many clients reach out when they’re feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable, or unsure of what they need. You don’t have to be “ready” in a specific way—just being open to showing up is enough to begin.
How do you support parents specifically?
I support parents through all stages—from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum and beyond. This includes processing emotions, adjusting to identity changes, managing stress, and navigating the complexities of raising children, including neurodivergent kids. I also bring my own lived experience as a parent into this work in a thoughtful and supportive way.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer in-person sessions in Oak Park, Illinois, as well as virtual therapy for clients located anywhere in Illinois.
