Natalie Miller, MFT Intern, she/her/hers (supervised by Isabel Caisse)
Therapy can feel uncertain, especially when you know something in your relationship or family needs to change but aren’t sure where to begin. I’m Natalie Miller, a pre-licensed therapist intern and I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, family stress, and uncertainty about what comes next.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
I offer a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about your hopes, fears, goals, and needs. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, so I want you to feel heard and understood from the beginning.
Together, we’ll focus on what matters most to you rather than trying to tackle everything at once. I’ll let you help guide our conversations while also helping you stay focused and move toward meaningful change. I may gently challenge you to step outside your comfort zone when doing so can help you grow.
Therapy Approach
I start by learning about what is happening in your life and what you want to accomplish through therapy. From there, we collaborate on specific areas to focus on. I help clients recognize relationship and family dynamics that may be contributing to stress, understand what they are experiencing, and develop new ways of communicating and responding.
My more than 20 years working in corporate environments also informs my work with clients experiencing workplace stress, career changes, layoffs, or difficult work environments.
I offer individual, couples, and family therapy for adolescents through adults. I provide in-person therapy in Oak Park, as well as virtual therapy throughout Illinois. I also speak Polish.
I am currently a therapy intern and practice under the supervision of Isabel Caisse, LMFT.
If you’re feeling unsure about whether therapy can help, you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start by talking about what’s happening and what you hope could be different.
You may be a good fit for my work if you are:
A couple navigating marriage, parenthood, career changes, or other life transitions
A couple adjusting to the challenges of raising adolescents or young adults
A multicultural couple working to bring different backgrounds and experiences together
Experiencing communication challenges or ongoing relationship stress
A family affected by a loved one’s involvement in a high-control group or recent departure from one
Managing workplace stress, anxiety, career changes, layoffs, or a toxic work environment
Ready to better understand your patterns and try new ways of relating to yourself and others
Frequently Asked Questions
What is it like to work with you?
I provide a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental space where you can share your hopes, concerns, goals, and needs. I’ll listen and collaborate with you while helping keep therapy focused. I may also gently challenge you to step outside your comfort zone when that can support your growth.
Who do you help best?
I work especially well with couples and families navigating transitions, communication challenges, and relationship stress. This includes multicultural couples, couples navigating parenthood, and families affected by a loved one’s involvement in or recent departure from a high-control group.
What should I expect in the first session?
We’ll begin by talking about what is happening in your life and what you would like to focus on in therapy. I’ll learn about your goals and what you hope will change. From there, we can identify a few areas to prioritize rather than trying to address everything at once.
