about Scott M.

“As a Couples and Family Therapist, I often encounter sentiments like "I don’t feel heard” or “I can’t seem to do anything right” from the couples I work with. Individual clients frequently express feeling overwhelmed and stressed, saying, "My life is changing dramatically, and I’m not sure what to do next.” I cherish the unique qualities that each individual, couple, and family brings to our interactions. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.

I am dedicated to enhancing your relationships, both with yourself, and with others. How do you "show up" in life, and are you satisfied with the outcomes? Together, we can explore these challenges and help organize your thoughts and feelings in a meaningful and purpose-filled way. Drawing from my extensive background as a business leader in healthcare, we will focus on your goals and what you want to achieve from therapy. I will help you identify and build on the strengths you already possess, empowering you to overcome obstacles and solve problems both now and in the future. Therapy should be a positive and transformative experience, and our collective work will be to help you rediscover peace, love, and joy in your life.

As someone who has navigated many life experiences, I deeply understand the range of emotions you may be facing—whether in relationships, dealing with anxiety or depression, or grappling with significant life decisions. My specialties include addressing relationship trauma such as trust issues, infidelity, communication breakdowns, anger management, divorce or separation as well as sexual and intimacy issues. Additionally, I am passionate about helping all individuals, who are committed to rewriting their life stories and achieving their best selves from this point forward.

I am a proud alumnus of The University of Iowa and a passionate Hawkeye fan. To add to the fun my daughter currently attends the University of Iowa and she is loving it. My son is attending American University in Washington D.C. where he is a D1 Swim Athlete and a political enthusiast. Both of my children were highly involved student-athletes in Naperville/Aurora, and I was an active parent volunteer with our high school and travel Club Teams. In my community, I have served as both HOA and Swim Team Board of Directors. I like to spend my “Scott time” with friends on the golf course, traveling to new destinations, enjoying a nice quiet dinner, watching a binge-worthy “Netflix” series, hitting the sauna or cold plunge pool, listening to an uplifting podcast, practicing the art of mediation, or spending quality time with my kids, family, and my two Shih Tzu’s Max and Rosie.”

“Therapy should be a positive and transformative experience, and our collective work will be to help you rediscover peace, love, and joy in your life.”
