About Sarah D.

You just want to understand your child, why they’re acting out, shutting down, or feeling so overwhelmed, and you want to know how to help. You’re trying your best, but nothing seems to work the way you hoped, and it’s exhausting. You don’t need to do this alone.

Many parents might be feeling worried and unsure about what’s going on beneath the surface of their child’s behavior. Whether it’s big emotions, anxiety, aggression, or challenges adjusting to changes at home or school, I help children make sense of their experiences in ways that are safe and developmentally appropriate, often through play. My goal is to support both the child and the parent, helping you feel more connected and more confident in how to show up for your child.

My background in early childhood education, and now clinical social work, has shown me how deeply children are affected by their environments, relationships, and early experiences. I also know how powerful it can be when a child has a safe space to express what they don’t yet have the words for. My approach is warm, playful, and relational, grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection.

I primarily work with young children and their caregivers using child-centered and play-based therapy. I also offer support to parents and families navigating life transitions, stress, and behavioral challenges. Together, we’ll work to understand your child’s needs and find strategies that support growth, regulation, and resilience.

Outside of therapy, I love spending time with my partner and our dog, exploring new neighborhoods, and taking walks along the water. If you’re ready to support your child in a new way, I’d love to connect with you.

My goal is to support both the child and the parent, helping you feel more connected and more confident in how to show up for your child.”
